Language and Learning
Prof. Dr. Nicole Marx is Full Professor of German as a Second Language at the University of Cologne and Chair of the Department of Language and Learning at the Mercator Institute. Her research focuses on second, foreign and tertiary language learning, multilingual teaching and learning approaches, writing and quantitative empirical methods in language teaching and learning research. Before joining the University of Cologne and the Mercator Institute, she was Full Professor for German as a Second and Foreign Language at the University of Bremen form 2012-2019. Before that, she was Associate Professor for Language Teaching Research and German as a Foreign Language at the University of Paderborn from 2009-2012.
